WSBS MSU invites undergraduates, graduate students, young reseachers and professors to take part in the summer school on comparative physiology, which will be held from 8-23 September, 2012.
The course will focus primarilzy on physiology of the heart and skeletal muscles. The main goal of the School is to introduce participants to modern experimental methods for studying marine species. The participants will work in groups of 2-3 people and will conduct seven practical tasks, such as intracellular recordings of action potentials in the fish heart, calcium imaging of cardiomyocytes with the aid of laser scanning confocal microscope, mapping of myocardium of fish, recording of electrocardiogram (ECG) of fish in vivo etc. Our leading experts in the field of comparative physiology will introduce participants to various aspects of this discipline through a series of lectures.
Total number of the School participants is limited to twelve, from Russia and abroad. Courses will be delivered in English.
